About Us

The Patrol Division is the largest within the Police Department. The section is comprised of four sergeants and ten patrol officers.

The Alliance Police Department strives to work within the philosophy of community-oriented policing. The Patrol section aims to:

  • Solve problems
  • Apprehend those committing crimes
  • Provide the expected service to the community

The Alliance Police Department wants to ensure that we enhance the quality of life through the cooperation of the police and the citizens of our town. The Patrol section also includes any efforts that the Community Service Officer has toward animal control.


The Patrol sections primary responsibilities are to:

  • Conduct visible patrols throughout the city
  • Prevent crime
  • Conduct preliminary investigations into reported crimes
  • Check suspicious incidents
  • Investigate traffic accidents
  • Enforce traffic laws

Police Service Dog

The Alliance Police Department has a Police Service Dog named "Capone". Capone is trained to detect ten different illegal drug odors. He will also perform the following functions: Tracking, Article Recovery, Building Searches, Handler Protection and Suspect Apprehension. Capone is assigned to K-9 Handler Tyler Weber.
