We're delighted to announce that the Aging Office of Western Nebraska has a Service Coordinator available at the Senior Center to provide dedicated support and resources for those on the AD Waiver (Aged and Disabled). Hours are Monday to Thursday, 8 am to 5 pm, and on Fridays from 8 am to 4 pm. This convenient schedule ensures that seniors/clients in the community have easy access to a wealth of services and assistance throughout the workweek.
Here's an overview of what the Aging Office of Western Nebraska Service Coordinator offers during their regular hours at the Senior Center:
The Service Coordinator conducts monthly home visits and/or phone check-ins.
ADL (Activities of Daily Living) and IDAL (Instrumental Activities of Daily Living):
- The Aging Office of Western Nebraska Service Coordinator assists with placement of providers that help seniors/clients with ADL tasks, which includes essential self-care tasks like bathing, dressing, and eating. As well as with IDALs, which encompasses more complex activities like managing medications, cooking, shopping, and housekeeping. These services aim to enhance seniors' independence and overall quality of life.
Mom's Meals:
- The Aging Office coordinates the distribution of Mom's Meals, a service that delivers nutritious and convenient meals directly to seniors/clients homes. This program ensures that seniors/clients have access to healthy and balanced meals, promoting their well-being and nutritional health.
Life Alert:
- As part of the commitment to senior/clients safety, the Service Coordinator facilitates access to Life Alert services. Life Alert is a personal emergency response system that provides immediate assistance in the event of a fall or other emergencies, offering seniors and their families peace of mind and swift access to help when needed.
- AD Chore:
- The Service Coordinator assists with placement of providers to help seniors/clients with deep house/appliance cleaning, snow removal, and lawn care.
