The City of Alliance maintains a computer based mapping system called a GIS. The GIS allows City staff to rapidly access information about the City utilizing different map layers. Layers consist of items such as city limit boundaries, zoning, water main, sewer main, electric primary lines, and other utilities within the City of Alliance. The GIS brings all of these layers together in one mapping environment allowing the user to select which layers are important to them. This easy access to data allows us to help citizens in a much more timely manner than was possible in the past. It is our goal to keep the information in the GIS as current as possible in an effort to maintain an accurate representation of each layer.
